G*D♥ERS
For me, it is truly a Vision of Joy when I sight personalized vanity auto license plates that make me smile. Spiritual plates are in this category. I really like this one: G*D♥ERS.  This last week, I saw another G*D themed license on an RV, and tried to shoot it while we were both moving on the road back from Malibu, with lots of freeway lanes. Because my sister and friend were with me, I didn't pull any of my usual shenanigans in order to capture the shot that I want. I missed it.

Karmageddon

Karmageddon

Karma was good during LA's Carmageddon* weekend, July 15-18, 2011.  LA and the San Fernando Valley was affected. Down my hilly street, one block away, usually there is non-stop traffic. It parallels busier major streets. Because Carmageddon was a giant event for LA, I shot one photo showing that NO ONE was out on the Sunday morning. LA drivers cooperated.  I compromised taking this one local shot, so that I honored Karmageddon and avoided Carmadeddon.  If it snowed on this street, I would get out my old wooden snow sled, as I did when I was a child in NY.

*The 405 San Diego Freeway from the 10 Freeway to the 101 Freeway was shut down so that half a bridge at Mulholland in the Sepulveda Pass could be repaired over the weekend. Amazing. Los Angelinos really did listen.  Next Carmadeddon is in 11 months, for the other half.
